How to Troubleshoot a Black & Decker Electric Lawnmower
Black & Decker was founded in 1910 and is famous for its power tools such as drills and screwdrivers. Black & Decker also manufactures car care products, vacuums, kitchen appliances and yard tools. Black & Decker electric lawnmowers have a mulching feature and are available with or without bags.
For minor problems with these lawnmowers, attempt some troubleshooting before taking it in for servicing.
-
Inspect the fuse or circuit breaker or plug the extension cord into a different outlet to ensure it is working if the lawnmower won't start.
-
Push the mower slower through grass so it won’t bog down if the motor slows. Also turn the mower upside down and remove clumps of grass. Have the blades sharpened if they have lost their edge.
-
Turn the lawnmower upside down and spin the wheels to ensure that they turn freely if it is difficult to push the mower. Also raise the cutting height if the mower is riding too low.
-
Turn the mower upside down and tighten the blades if clumps of grass are being left behind while mowing. Clean out the bottom if grass is stuck underneath and always wait until the grass is dry before mowing.
