Problems With an Electrolux Washer

Not Operating

Sometimes an Electrolux washer may not start, usually due to power supply issues. Check to see that the power cord is plugged into a grounded, functional outlet. If the outlet works but the washer still does not start, the circuit breaker may have tripped or you have a fuse blown.

When the washer has an adequate power supply but still does not operate, maybe the water supply faucets are not turned on or open.

The washer will not start if its motor has overheated because the motor is designed to automatically stop itself when it gets too hot. After the motor cools down for approximately 30 minutes, there will be an automatic restart.

Check that the washer’s door is closed all the way because the machine will not start if the door is not properly closed.

Not Spin

An Electrolux washer spins after its rinse cycle to remove excess water from the load. If your washer fails to spin, its load is likely too small. Balance the load by adding a few additional items so the spin cycle may begin.

Too Wet After Spin

Sometimes after a spin cycle you may notice that the load in your Electrolux washer is still too wet. If you overload or underload the washer, it may not spin properly and not remove excess water from the laundry. An out-of-balance load may cause a similar problem, so you may need to rearrange the laundry inside your washer to allow the machine to spin properly.

If water from the rinse cycle cannot leave the tub, your laundry will be left wet. Check the drain hose for kinks that might prevent water from flowing through it and straighten it if necessary.

Residue Inside Drum

After the washer completes its cycle, you may sometimes notice residue left inside the drum. Typically, residue results from loads that contain heavily soiled items that deposit a film on the washer’s drum. While you cannot avoid washing these items, you can easily remove the residue by wiping the inside of the drum with a nonabrasive cleanser and running a rinse cycle to remove any lingering residue.
