How to Remove Loctite Glue
Loctite manufacturers make many types of adhesives, but the one most people associate with the brand name is cyanoacrylate, sometimes sold as Super Glue. This glue is strong and sets quickly, and it's possible to glue your fingers together while using it. You can also get drops on your clothes or other items.
The glue isn't difficult to remove, but you must be patient.
Removing Loctite From Skin
If you get Loctite on your fingers and accidentally put them together and they stick, you can tear your skin by trying to force the fingers apart. Instead, immerse them in warm, soapy water and use a blunt object -- a bar of soap is ideal -- to gently pry your fingers apart. Remove dried Loctite from other parts of your body by soaking the affected part in warm, soapy water and gently scraping off the glue.
Removing Loctite From Fabric and Solid Surfaces
Soaking fabrics in warm, soapy water is the best way to remove dried Loctite glue. To get the glue off a solid surface, dip a few drops of nail polish remover -- the type that contains acetone -- on it. Acetone dissolves the glue, but it also harms some furniture finishes. If you get the glue on such a finish, you may end up having to scrape off part of the finish with the glue.
