How to Make a Spray Buff Solution

Buffing a floor is a simple technique that brings out a ton of shine.

Buffing brings out the natural shine, minimizes scratches and removes caked-on dirt or grease. Spray buffing is just what it sounds like -- the brief application of a solution onto the surface of the object you plan to buff, just before you rub it with the cloth. There's no reason why you can't make your own spray buff solution.

1. Fill a spray bottle halfway with floor finish for your specific type of floor, be it wood, tile, marble or any other variety. If you have polished concrete floors, fill it halfway with white distilled vinegar for a natural shine.

2. Fill the rest of the bottle with distilled water. Replace the cap on the spray bottle and screw it on tightly.

3. Shake the bottle vigorously to combine the two liquids. Squirt the solution onto your floor or other item.

4. Buff the solution away with a microfiber cloth. If you've mixed the two solutions well, it will be easy to buff the floor or items to a bright shine. If not, shake the bottle some more.
