Before trying to remove the stain, read the washing instructions printed on the pillow tag. Washing machines can damage certain types of pillows such as foam and latex.

  1. Lay the pillow on a flat surface with the sweat stains facing up.

  2. Fill a small container with equal parts of 3 percent hydrogen peroxide and water. Stir the contents together with a spoon.

  3. Dip the corner of a clean sponge in the mixture and wring out excess liquid. Blot the sweat stain with the damp sponge until the stain is saturated.

  4. Let the mixture sit on the pillow for 30 minutes. If the pillow is washable, launder it on the gentle cycle with 1/4 cup of laundry detergent. If the pillow is not washable, rinse the mixture off the pillow by blotting the surface with a damp cloth. Pat dry with a towel.
