How to Install a Dryer Vent Hose on a Kenmore Elite Front-Loader
Kenmore Elite front-loader washing machines come in both gas and electric models. Some even offer an optional steam setting for extra drying power. No matter what model of Kenmore Elite you have, however, they all need to be vented during the drying cycle. Flexible dryer hoses give you the option of conforming the vent to your particular location.
Step 1
Move your Kenmore Elite dryer away from the wall so that you can easily access the area at the rear of the dryer and unplug it from the power outlet.
Step 2
Determine the length between the dryer and the vent where you will be connecting the hose with a measuring tape. Also take into account the number of 90-degree bends that the hose will have to go through before it reaches the vent. This will determine the maximum amount of length you will need for the hose.
Step 3
Cut the flexible hose to size, if needed, with a pair of tin snips or metal cutting shears.
Step 4
Slip one end of the hose over the outlet on the Kenmore Elite dryer. Secure it in place with a hose clamp and tighten it with a screwdriver.
Step 5
Route the hose to the vent inlet on the inside of the laundry area.
Step 6
Slip the opposite end of the hose onto the vent inlet. Secure it with a hose clamp.
Step 7
Restore power to your Kenmore Elite dryer. Run a short cycle for about five minutes or so. Check that the hoses aren't leaking warm air. Tighten the clamps if necessary. Return the dryer to its original location against the wall.
