Put on a dual cartridge HEPA mask, eye goggles, disposable tyvek coveralls and laceless rubber books.
Cover the room with plastic sheeting over doorways, windows and other openings in the room. Tape the plastic sheeting in place.
Spray the floor with water two hours before the removal of the tile.
Slide a putty knife under a tile close to a doorway. Pry as much of the tile as possible to keep the pieces to a minimum. Heat the tile, with a hair dryer, if the tiles are breaking into four or more pieces.
Place the removed tiles into an EPA approved asbestos trash bag or an air tight container.
Dispose of the tile according to the local guidelines.
