Determine the location of your bed. Lay the two metal side rails where you want your bed to be.
Attach the two or three cross rails on each side of the two side rails, using the mounting bolts and screws. In many cases, the cross rails will already be attached to the side rails and you will only have to extend them.
Connect each cross rail with your glide brackets. Before tightening the brackets, use the tape measure to ensure that the width is appropriate for your bed. Usually, the glide brackets are secured by a small screw or bolt, so use your adjustable wrench or screwdriver to tighten the brackets.
Adjust the frame, if necessary, to fit your box spring and mattress. Test the mattress by lying down on it. Tighten any bolts or screws as needed.
