How Do I Keep Bathroom Mirrors From Fogging Up?

Attempting to look at yourself in the mirror after a hot, steamy shower proves impossible due to the fog build-up that developed. The "fog" is actually condensation from the excess amount of humidity that developed in the air from the "steam" released from the water. Instead of wiping the mirror clean after your shower, you can stop the mirror from ever fogging up by implementing a method of prevention.

Step 1

Shake up a can of shaving cream and spray a amount equal to the diameter of a fifty-cent piece into your hand.

Step 2

Rub the shaving cream all over the surface of the mirror, coating it as evenly as possible.

Step 3

Wipe the shaving cream away with a lint-free towel.

Step 4

Repeat Steps 1 through 3 before you take a shower each time.

Things You Will Need

  • Shaving cream
  • Lint-free towel

  • If you forget to put the shaving cream on the mirror and wipe off, you can aim a hairdryer set to high directly on the mirror to eliminate the fog.
