How to Remove Burnt-on Water on Ceramic Stove Tops

Ceramic stove tops are composed of glass and a combination of electric heating mechanisms that are located under the glass surface. As with any type of stove top, ceramic stove tops are prone to staining from a number of different elements, such as food and water. No matter the stain, ceramic stove tops can be easily cleaned using simple household cleaning products, for example, an all-purpose kitchen cleaning solution. This product is designed for the specific purpose of removing all kinds of stains from stove tops without causing damage, such as scratches.

All-Purpose Kitchen Cleaning Solution

Burnt-on water stains can be stubborn to remove, but it is possible.
  1. Allow the stove to cool down from prior use. If it is hot, do not touch the stove. After the stove is cool and safe to touch, take paper towels and wipe off any food spillage found on the stove top.

  2. Apply an all-purpose kitchen cleaning solution to the burnt-on water stains located on the ceramic stove top surface. Using either a circular or up-and-down pattern, rub the solution into the stains with a sponge.

  3. Dampen a hand towel with warm water and wipe the entire surface of the ceramic stove top, removing excess cleaning solution in the process.

  4. Dry the stove top surface using a soft hand towel.

Baking Soda

  1. Rinse the stains on the stove top with warm water using a damp sponge.

  2. Sprinkle baking soda on the water stains, covering them completely.

  3. Rub the baking soda into the stains with a damp sponge, utilizing either a circular or up-and-down pattern with your hands. As you rub, keep wetting the sponge with warm water and continue to rub the baking soda into the stains until the stains and baking soda have disappeared.

  4. Combine 1 cup of ammonia with 1 cup of warm water in a spray bottle and shake to mix.

  5. Spray the ammonia mixture onto the entire surface of the ceramic stove top.

  6. Wipe the ceramic stove top surface with a soft cloth towel until it is dry and clean.
