How to Clean Lime From Coffee Pots

The term "lime" as it refers to deposits left on coffee pots or other surfaces is also known as "lime scale" or "hard water deposits." These deposits accumulate over time when your coffee pot is exposed to water containing a relatively high concentration of minerals. When these minerals begin to adhere to your coffee pot, they appear as a white film or white flakes. Luckily, you can rid a coffee pot of lime quite easily using inexpensive ingredients.

You can use vinegar to remove lime from a coffee pot.
  1. Fill your sink with equal parts warm water and white vinegar.

  2. Place the coffee pot and lid in the sink and let it soak for approximately 15 minutes.

  3. Scrub the pot and lid with a dishcloth to finish removing any lime residue.

  4. Rinse thoroughly under running water.
