Liquid dish detergent works well to kill ants and keep them away. In a spray bottle, mix a solution of 2 cups water and 10 drops of your normal liquid dish detergent.
Spray directly onto ants when you see them, as well as window sills, doorways or wherever they appear to enter the home from.
