How to Get Rid of Surface Scratches on Pergo Flooring
Pergo is the company that invented laminate flooring, and it remains an industry innovator after more than 30 years in the business. With warranties ranging from 10 years commercial use to products with a lifetime residential warranty, Pergo guarantees a tough product.
Things You Will Need
- 1/4 cup white vinegar
- 1 quart water
- Sponge or rag
- Pergo color fill kit (to match flooring shade)
- Paper towel (optional)
- Soft lint-free cloth
That being said, it is still possible to acquire surface scratches on Pergo flooring; luckily for the homeowner, the Pergo company makes a product to repair scratches within minutes.
-
Clean the flooring where the scratches are located by wiping with a sponge or rag moistened with a mixture of 1/4 cup vinegar to 1 quart water (wring out sponge before wiping). Allow to dry completely.
-
Apply a thin layer of Pergo color filler, using your fingertip or a paper towel to rub the filler into the scratches. Allow to dry completely.
-
Buff the area where the scratches were filled, using a soft lint-free cloth and rubbing in a circular motion. The scratches will no longer be visible.
Tip
If you can’t find the scratch locations to buff, shine a light on the area and the color filler will appear as a dull area. Color fill kits are available at your Pergo dealer.
Warning
Never allow liquids to stand on your Pergo flooring.
