Things You Will Need

  • White vinegar
  • Bathtub or sink
  • Washing machine
  • Clothes line/dryer

Using a household liquid to both pre-treat and wash the underwear deodorizes, sanitizes and whitens the items without hurting either the underwear or the wearer's skin.

  1. Mix approximately 1 cup white vinegar with 5 cups cool water in a bathtub or sink.

  2. Place the men's cotton underwear into the solution.

  3. Soak the underwear for 30 to 60 minutes. Remove the underwear from the solution and place them into your washing machine with no other laundry.

  4. Pour 1 cup of laundry detergent into the washing machine. Add 1 cup of white vinegar into the machine.

  5. Run the machine on a single gentle cycle. Dry the underwear as normal.
