How to Use Vinegar to Get Rid of a Smoke Smell in a Room
Vinegar works well as a natural deodorizer and air freshener. The air fresheners found at your local supermarket often contain chemical ingredients and don't actually remove the odor, just temporarily mask it. Vinegar actually removes the odor safely without use of chemicals and works especially well for smoke odor.
Things You Will Need
- Spray bottle
- Bowls
- Vinegar
- Lemon juice
-
Fill a spray bottle with white vinegar. Add in equal portions of vinegar and lemon juice for a citrus-scented air freshener. Mist around the room. The mixture is also safe to spray on carpeting.
-
Fill a few bowls with equal parts white vinegar and lemon juice, and place them around your home.
-
Let the bowls sit overnight to absorb the odor, and spray the freshener around the room as needed until smoke odor is no longer present.
-
Remember to open windows to allow air to circulate, which often greatly assists in odor removal.
