How to Store a Tempurpedic Mattress
Tempur-Pedic mattresses are among the most comfortable high-end beds in the world. Their comfort, as is widely advertised, derives from a material originally developed by NASA for use in space shuttles. This so-called "TEMPUR"
material is based on laminated visco-elastic technology that was first produced in the 1990s and patented by the Tempur-Pedic company in 2009. While you'll probably want to sleep as many nights as possible on your Tempur-Pedic mattress, a time may come when you'll need to put it in storage for a little while. Taking a few precautions can help make sure your mattress is as comfortable when you take it out as it was the day you stored it.
-
Find a mattress storage bag that's the right size for your mattress. Choose a bag like the Banana mattress protector that has thick enough plastic to protect the mattress from damage. The highest quality mattress bags are realtively inexpensive, so there's really no need to skimp and risk damage to your mattress.
-
Place the mattress in a large box. If you're concerned about moths getting into your mattress (unlikely given your mattress bag, but possible), consider tossing some moth repellent sachets in as well. Store it in a cool, dry place in your home. If you don't have room for it in your house, find a storage company in your area where you can rent some space.
-
When you take your mattress out of storage, consider putting some freshly scented dryer sheets between your mattress and box spring to give it a new-mattress smell.
