Basic maintenance is necessary before the humidifier can come out of “Reset” mode and operate as normal.

Things You Will Need

  • Dish soap
  • Washcloths
  1. Set the power dial to the “Reset” position.

  2. Unplug the device, remove the water tank and lift the tray from the base of the humidifier. Wash the water tank and tray by hand with dish soap and a washcloth or in the top rack of a dishwasher. Wipe all other components of the humidifier with a soft, clean washcloth.

  3. Refill the water tank and reassemble the humidifier. Wait at least 15 minutes before you plug the humidifier into an electrical outlet.

  4. Plug in the humidifier and set the power dial to “High.” The “Reset” light should turn off automatically. Repeat the process if the “Reset” light does not turn off.

The Drip Cap

  • The Holmes humidifier provides a convenient way to add moisture to the air, making the home more comfortable during dry winter months.
  • As a safety measure to ensure the device stays in prime condition, Holmes humidifiers go into “Reset” mode once the water level gets too low.
  • Unplug the device, remove the water tank and lift the tray from the base of the humidifier.
