Can You Clean Quarry Tile Floors With Murphy's Oil Soap?
Murphy’s Oil Soap is often used to clean hardwood surfaces, including wood floors, furniture and cabinets. Colgate, the manufacturer of the product, states that it’s safe to use on other surfaces, such as tile floors like quarry tiles.
Cleaning
Fill a plastic bucket with 1 gallon warm water and add ¼ cup Murphy’s Oil Soap. Dip a soft cloth in the mixture and wipe it across the tiles, or mop the tile with the solution and then mop again with fresh water, removing any residue.
Considerations
If the tiles are significantly dirty, use a ½ cup Murphy’s Oil Soap, rather than ¼ cup of the product. Use this same ratio if the quarry tiles still look dusty or dirty after cleaning.
Warning
Always test the product on an inconspicuous area of the quarry tiles first, to check for any signs of discoloration or other problems. If discoloration occurs, stop using the Murphy’s Oil Soap.
