You can produce a homemade remedy to eliminate the outdoor odor using non-toxic ingredients that will not harm your pet.
Things You Will Need
-
Put on the rubber gloves and dispose of any excess pet mess outdoors.
-
Dispose of and replace any pet bedding that emits urine, feces or vomit odors.
-
Mix 1/2 gallon vinegar, 1/2 gallon water, 1 cup baking soda and 1/4 cup hydrogen peroxide in a large cleaning bucket. Vinegar and baking soda are natural cleaners and deodorizers. Hydrogen peroxide will neutralize the smell of urine.
-
Pour the cleaning solution on the areas where the odor is coming from.
-
Scrub the cleaning solution into hard-surfaced areas such as concrete, wood or paved decking with a stiff-bristled yard brush. Obviously, this will not work on areas with grass or flower beds.
-
Allow to air dry and the odor will be removed.
The Drip Cap
- Household pets are lovable but sometimes prone to mishaps around the home.
- Odor removal with ammonia should be avoided as the scent will only attract the pet back to the same spot to re-mark his territory.
