Once you clean the stains off the fixtures, try to wipe them down after each use to prevent future staining.

Wipe the bronze fixtures with a dry flannel cloth to remove any dust or dirt. Pour 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 cup of white vinegar into a bowl.

Stir the vinegar and salt until the salt is dissolved. Keep stirring as you add flour, until the mixture has formed a paste.

Spread the paste over the hard water stains. Let the paste dry for one hour.

Dampen the flannel cloth and wipe the paste off the fixtures. Rinse the cloth and wipe the fixtures again to make sure you got all the paste off the surface. Wipe the fixtures with a dry cloth to dry them.
