Rust Stain Removal from Grout

Dish Detergent
Dish detergent works wonders in removing rust stains from grout. In a spray bottle, mix a solution of 1 cup water with 20 drops liquid dish detergent (any brand will do). Spray the solution onto the grout, let sit for a few minutes, then use a soft brush or sponge to rub away any leftover rust. When the rust stain has been removed completely, rinse the area with warm water to remove any rust or detergent residue. Use this solution regularly as a safe grout-cleaning product.
Laundry Detergent
Laundry detergent also works well to remove rust stains from grout, without damaging the grout surface. Dampen the area, then sprinkle a layer of powdered laundry detergent onto the stain. Let sit for a few minutes, then use a soft brush or sponge to work the detergent into the stain. Repeat as necessary until the entire rust stain has been removed, then rinse clean with warm water to remove any detergent or rust residue.
Hydrogen Peroxide

In a spray bottle, mix a solution of 1 cup water and 1/2 cup hydrogen peroxide (available at any grocery store or drug store). Spray the solution directly onto the grout stain and scrub with a soft brush or sponge. When the stain has been removed completely, rinse with warm water to remove any rust or cleaning solution residue that may be left behind. Use this solution also for mildew and mold stains.
