How to Level an Electrolux Side-by-Side Refrigerator
Electrolux side-by-side refrigerators may have options such as an electronic touch control panel, air and water filter, quick ice production, chiller drawer and fast temperature adjustment. But even with these features, the refrigerator may not maintain an accurate temperature and the doors may keep opening if the refrigerator is not level. In addition, loud vibration and noise can occur if the appliance is not on a level surface or if the feet are not level. Leveling your Electrolux refrigerator can help resolve this problem.
Step 1
Remove the Electrolux refrigerator toe grille. Release the clips located on the right and left side of the toe grille near the bottom hinge. Open the refrigerator doors, and then push down on the top of the toe grille until it pops away from the refrigerator. Pull the grille out to lift the grille from the lower hinges, and remove from the unit.
Step 2
Close the refrigerator doors. Use a 3/8-inch socket wrench or a flat-blade screwdriver to turn the rollers, located near the door flange on each side of the front of the refrigerator. Raise the rollers to lift the refrigerator up or lower the rollers to bring the refrigerator down. Make adjustments until the four corners of the refrigerator are in firm contact with the ground, your level shows that the cabinet is level in the front and the rear, and the refrigerator tilts no more than ¼ inch from front to back.
Step 3
Adjust the refrigerator door if the refrigerator door is lower than the freezer door by turning the adjustment screw on the right hinge using a 7/16-inch socket wrench in a clockwise motion. Lift the freezer door if the freezer door is lower than the refrigerator door by turning the adjustment screw on the left hinge using a 7/16-inch socket wrench in a clockwise motion.
Step 4
Open and close both doors to verify that the doors open and close fully with no obstruction and stay closed when shut.
Step 5
Replace the toe grille when the refrigerator is level. Open both doors and place the toe grille over the lower hinges. Hold the toe grille against the cabinet, and reconnect the clips on both sides and on the top of the grille. Close the doors and close the clips on the bottom of each hinge.
