How to Clean a Whirlpool Water Cooler

Put on a pair of rubber gloves. You will be using a bleach solution, and the gloves will protect your hands from the bleach.

Combine the bleach with water in a bucket.

Unplug the Whirlpool water cooler before starting to clean it.

Twist the water cooler bottle to the left. Once it has been twisted off, pull up on it to remove it.

Place an empty bucket under the faucets. Pull down on the faucets to drain any remaining water into the bucket.

Pour the bleach and water solution inside the interior reservoir. Soak the reservoir with the solution for several minutes.

Scrub the inside of the reservoir and the interior walls with a sponge.

Drain the bleach and water solution through the faucets and into the bucket.

Fill the interior reservoir with fresh water and drain in through the faucets and into the bucket. This will rinse out the bleach solution. Do this four times to ensure there is no bleach left inside the water cooler.

Place the new Whirlpool water bottle on top of the water cooler and twist it to the right to tighten it.
