How do I Clean a Polar Water Dispenser With Vinegar?
The Polar brand carries a countertop-style water dispenser that takes up little space in your home while also giving you fast access to clean and chemical-free water. The unit is equipped with both cold and hot water dispenser options, allowing you to use whichever tap best suits your needs.
To keep the unit safe and running properly, it is important to clean and disinfect the unit every month or so, or each time you change water bottles. Vinegar is a natural disinfectant that contains no harsh chemicals and will keep your water dispenser bacteria-free.
-
Remove the water cooler from the water dispenser, and wipe with both the lip of the bottle and the bottle holder opening on the dispenser unit with a rag saturated in white vinegar.
-
Wipe the same vinegar-soaked cloth over the drip tray and dispenser taps and faucet handles.
-
Pour a combination of 4 cups hot water and 4 cups white vinegar into the dispenser reservoir.
-
Wait 20 minutes, and run the water out of the reservoir through the taps.
-
Fill the reservoir with plain hot water this time, and run through the taps to flush out any leftover vinegar residue.
