Grates and Tray
Step 1
Disconnect the power cord from the outlet before cleaning.
Step 2
Remove the grates and spill pans. Clean the grates in soapy water using a clean rag. Normal dirt and grime that has not dried and hardened can often be removed easily.
Step 3
Eliminate stubborn stains from the grates and spill pans by scrubbing with a nonabrasive pad that has been soaked in a mixture of warm water and grease-cutting dish detergent. Dry the grate and spill pan thoroughly.
Burner Components and Igniters
Step 1
Remove the burner caps and burner rings from each burner assembly.
Step 2
Examine the igniter, the metal top and the base for dirt. Use a firm toothbrush to clean these areas. Water cannot be used to clean the igniter.
Step 3
Remove debris from the burner rings with a stiff wire or straightened paper clip. Use caution to not distort the shape of the ring holes.
Step 4
Clean the removed burner parts and bases with rubbing alcohol. Use a stiff toothbrush to loosen dirt and rinse the parts with clean water. Dry all parts completely before replacing on the cooktop.
Step 5
Replace all parts, and turn the burners on to test them. Reposition the components and check for dirt if the flame is uneven.
Stainless Steel and Other Surfaces
Step 1
Clean stainless steel with Dacor stainless steel cleaner. Apply the cleaner with a soft cloth and wipe to a shine.
Step 2
Use a mild detergent and water to clean stainless steel areas of the cooktop as an alternative to using the stainless steel cleaner. Rinse the surface using a clean moist rag, then dry with a lint-free cloth.
Step 3
Use mild detergent and water to clean brass, chrome and copper surfaces. Rinse off the the detergent mix, then dry with a lint-free cloth.
Knobs and Trim
Step 1
Remove the knobs by first setting them at the off position. Grip the knob and pull straight out.
Step 2
Wash the knobs using dishwashing liquid and warm water. Do not soak the knobs or place in the dishwasher.
Step 3
Clean the edges of the trim rings with a soft damp cloth. Avoid getting moisture behind the trim ring.
Step 4
Dry the knobs and replace them in the off position.
