How to Clean Calcium Spots Off a Natural Stone Shower Naturally
Calcium spots and deposits are common in the shower when you have hard water. Acidic ingredients, such as white vinegar or lemon juice, work well as natural remedies for removing calcium deposits but can damage natural stone surfaces. By using the right supplies and cleaning methods, you can clean calcium spots off your natural stone shower without damaging the stone.
Step 1
Moisten a sponge with water. Sprinkle baking soda over one side of the damp sponge.
Step 2
Scrub the calcium spots on your natural stone shower. Rinse the sponge as needed. Add more baking soda and continue to clean the stones to loosen and remove as much of the calcium deposits as possible.
Step 3
Fill a bucket with 1 gallon of warm water. Pour 1 cup of ammonia into the bucket of water.
Step 4
Dampen a cloth with the diluted ammonia solution. Use it to wash off any remaining calcium spots on your natural stone shower.
Step 5
Rinse your shower with water. Dry the natural stone surface with clean cloths.
