How to Fix Clicking in a Jennair Stove

Chad Buleen

Although you may hear a clicking sound emanating from your Jenn-Air stove, this does not necessarily mean the clicking indicates a problem. A small amount of clicking coming from your Jenn-Air range is perfectly normal. If you find that the appliance is clicking nonstop, you may need to slightly adjust the appliance's settings so the clicking ceases.

Step 1

Look at the surface burner knob. If the stove is clicking, this means the surface burner is in the "Lite" position. The clicking sound you hear is the sound coming from each of the surface burners preparing to light.

Step 2

Turn the knob counterclockwise to initiate a flame on the surface burner. Adjust the flame size by slightly turning the knob clockwise or counterclockwise. The clicking sound ceases as soon as the flame ignites.

Step 3

Turn the knob clockwise to the "Off" position if you do not want to turn on a flame. This also will stop the clicking sound.
