How to Troubleshoot a Danby DDR586R Dehumidifier
Danby is an appliance marketing company that produces home appliances under a variety of brand names, including Simplicity, Danby, and Danby Designer, among others. Products include air conditioners, refrigerators, wine coolers, dishwashers, freezers, washers, dryers and dehumidifiers. The Danby DDR586R dehumidifier is a portable dehumidifier meant to reduce the overall moisture in the air for rooms or small spaces. Troubleshooting problems with the unit may be useful in identifying the issue and possibly identifying a solution.
Check the power cord connection if the dehumidifier is not working and ensure the unit is plugged into a working power outlet. Reset the local circuit breaker or fuse as necessary.
Remove the water tank from the front of the unit and empty if the dehumidifier is not operating properly or lowering the moisture content well. Replace the water tank in the unit.
Open the front access panel and remove the air filter if the dehumidifier is not functioning well. Rinse the filter in clean water and dry thoroughly before returning to the unit.
Check the front grill for possible obstructions and wipe away excess dirt or debris if the unit is not removing moisture from the air as expected.
Close all doors and windows if the dehumidifier is not reaching the desired humidity level even after a prolonged period of use.
