Directions for Vicks Model V5100 Humidifier

The Vicks V5100 Ultrasonic Humidifier is a cool mist unit intended for use throughout the home, both day and night.

Humidifier Operating Instructions

The unit is used to ease the symptoms associated with allergies or the common cold, including cough and congestion. The humidifier comes equipped with a 1. 2 gallon reservoir that allows it to run for up to 20 hours. There is also a scent pad heater option that allows the user the option of placing a specialized pad into the unit in order to produce a soothing vapor to help further relieve nasal congestion.

Remove the unit's water tank, turn it over and turn the reservoir cap counter-clockwise to remove.

Fill the reservoir with cool tap water. Screw the cap back on tightly by turning it clockwise.

Place the reservoir tank back into place and plug the unit into a 120 volt AC outlet.

Turn the power to the "On" position and choose the level of mist intensity, from low to high. The lower the intensity, the longer the unit will run.

Allow the humidifier to run for five to 15 minutes before the presence of mist is seen. Once the mist appears, point the unit away from any furniture, bedding or walls, if this has not already been done.

Turn off the unit and remove the reservoir once it is empty and requires refilling.

Scent Pad Instructions

Remove the water tank reservoir to find the scent pad slot.

Place one scent pad into the slot. Wear rubber gloves when placing the scent pad, as the menthol found on it can irritate the skin and eyes.

Replace the water tank reservoir and turn on the unit.
