If the mixer fails to start this might be an electrical issue or simply a case of the mixer becoming overheated with heavy use. At the factory the flat beater is set so it clears the bottom of the bowl, but if the blades are hitting the bowl, the bowl may need to be readjusted.

Check the cord to make sure it is plugged into the electrical outlet if the mixer won’t turn on.

Verify that the electrical outlet is working if the cord is plugged in and the appliance won’t turn on. There may be a fuse that needs to be replaced or a circuit breaker that has been tripped. One way to check is to plug a another appliance into the outlet.

Turn the mixer off for 15 seconds and then turn it back on. If it still does not start, allow it to rest for 30 minutes before turning back on.

Bowl Clearance

Unplug the appliance.

Set the bowl lift handle to the down position.

Insert the flat beater on the beater shaft and turn it to the left, hooking the beater on the pin shaft.

Turn the screw (located on the side of the mixer closest to the bowl) counterclockwise to raise the bowl and clockwise to lower it.

Adjust the bowl height so that the beater will not strike the bottom or side of the bowl when running.
