How to Use Ammonia to Kill Weeds
Weeds are a nuisance. Coming to a general consensus about that is the easy part; finding effective ways to get rid of them is the challenge. If you ask 10 gardeners for advice, you'll probably hear 10 different remedies for killing weeds.
There are commercial-grade products found at your local gardening or home improvement store, and there are less-expensive homemade products that can be used for the job. Ammonia is one home remedy used to get rid of stubborn weeds. As with any chemical, there are precautions to take.

Dilute the ammonia. Mix two-thirds parts ammonia with one-third part water.

Pour into a spray bottle.

Test an area in the garden. Spray the ammonia solution directly onto the weeds.

Reapply if needed until the weeds die.

Apply to the rest of the garden’s weeds if you like the results.
Warning
Do not mix ammonia with any other chemical because it may produce a toxic gas. Wear gloves whenever handling a chemical.
