How to Clean the Filter in a Duraflame Heater
The Duraflame heater is a portable heater that can be used to warm a room. Depending on the model, you can set the temperature at 50 to 97 degrees. If you use the heater daily, you need to clean the filter once a month so that it can continue to operate efficiently.
If you don't use the heater daily, check the filter once a month to determine when it needs to be cleaned. If you use the heater only in the winter, you should clean the filter at the start of the heating season.
Tip
If you have pets, you should clean the filter once a week.
-
Turn off the heater. Unplug the power cord from the wall receptacle.
-
Lift up the filter cover at the back of the unit. Pull the filter cover out. Some units have two small screws holding the filter cover that you need to remove first, but some just pop off by lifting up on the cover and pulling out.
-
Remove the air filter from the heater. The filter will just pull out.
-
Use a vacuum cleaner hose to removed the buildup from both sides of the air filter. Place the clean filter back in the filter compartment.
-
Replace the filter cover. Plug the Duraflame heater into the wall receptacle and turn it on to continue heating the room.
