How to Disconnect an LG Frontloader Washing Machine

Whether you're moving, replacing your washer or performing maintenance, learning how to properly disconnect your LG front-loader washing machine is an important skill. If you disconnect the washing machine improperly or disconnect the water supply hose before unplugging the power cord, you are at risk of electric shock, according to the LG website. With the right knowledge and safety precautions, you can disconnect your LG washing machine without complications.

Step 1

Pull the washing machine out from the wall so you can access the back of the machine.

Step 2

Unplug the washing machine from the electrical outlet.

Step 3

Turn off the water supply valve using a clockwise motion until the valve stops. Place a bucket beneath the water hose.

Step 4

Unscrew the water hose connector from the water supply by hand using a counterclockwise motion. If the connector is screwed into place, loosen the screws with a Philips screwdriver and remove the connector.

Step 5

Place the end of the hose into a bucket to collect any dripping water.

Step 6

Remove the drain hose from the sink or drainage area and place it in the bucket to drain any standing water.
