How to Fix a Kenmore Dishwasher Control Panel With a Key Stuck
A stuck key on a Kenmore dishwasher will normally cause the lock light indicator on the unit to start blinking. When this happens you will not be able to wash or rinse the dishes in the dishwasher. When the lock light is blinking it is caused by a stuck key on the control pad. A Kenmore dishwasher control panel with a stuck key can be fixed by turning off the control lock or resetting the control panel.
Control Lock
-
Close the door to the dishwasher and then press the "No Heat Dry" button on the control panel for four seconds.
-
Wait for the "Lock On" status light to begin flashing. When the light turns off the control lock is no longer on or engaged to prevent use.
-
Press the "Normal Wash" button to see if the dishwasher will function normally.
Reset Control Panel
-
Go to the circuit panel and turn off the breaker for your kitchen. This will cut the power to all of the electrical devices, including the dishwasher.
-
Wait 3 to 5 minutes and then turn the breaker back on.
-
Check the dishwasher to see if there are any flashing lights that indicate a stuck key which would prevent the dishwasher from running.
-
Press the "Normal Wash" button to see if the dishwasher will function normally.
