How to Clean an Electrolux Gas Range
Cleaning an Electrolux gas range properly will keep it looking and working as good as new. Expect a complete cleaning of the Electrolux gas range and its parts to take approximately 3 1/2 hours depending on the condition of the range.
It is always best to clean spills immediately before they dry and become difficult to remove.
-
Wash the cast-iron grates on the Electrolux gas range in the dishwasher on the normal cycle. Electrolux recommends coating the cast-iron grates with vegetable oil after cleaning the cast-iron grates in the dishwasher. Then cure the grates in the oven at 350 degrees F for 10 minutes.
The porcelain coated grates should be washed in the dishwasher and rubbed with vegetable oil. Do not cure the porcelain coated grates in the oven.
-
Clean the cooktop with a mildly soapy, non-abrasive sponge. Using steel wool is not recommended and will scratch the stainless steel cook top and the black ceramic cooktop. Follow with a warm water rinse to remove soap residue which may discolor the cooktop during use.
-
Spray the glass on the oven and computer panel with glass cleaner or a vinegar and water solution. Follow with a dry with a clean dry cloth.
-
Disinfect the body and handles of the Electrolux gas range with soap and water. Rinse with warm water and dry with a clean dry cloth. This method may be used with stainless steel, black and white Electrolux models.
-
Self cleaning mode may be used to clean the oven cavity once the Electrolux Luxury-Glide racks have been removed. The self cleaning option may damage the Luxury-Glide racks.
Close both the upper and lower oven doors which will be locked once self clean mode begins.
To start the self cleaning option, set self clean option on the computer panel and choose light, medium or heavy cleaning based on the needs of your oven and hit the start button.
The oven doors will unlock when the oven is ready to be used and is cool to the touch.
-
Scrub the Electrolux Luxury-Glide racks with steel wool or an abrasive sponge until clean. Allow the racks to air dry.
Electrolux recommends applying a light coating of vegetable oil to the outer edges of the racks to keep the racks in top performance.
-
Replace the Luxury-Glide racks back into the oven when the self clean mode is complete.
