Step 1
Place the ProxProgrammer proximity-card programmer near your computer and plug the included data cable into the port at the back of the unit; connect the other end to an available USB port on your computer.

Install the software that came with your ProxProgrammer, if you have not done so already.
Step 3
Launch the ProxProgrammer software from your computer's desktop; the main menu screen of the program will appear.
Step 4
Click on the "File" tab at the top of the screen and then select "Card Order" and "New."
Step 5
Enter the card information in the required text fields on the screen. This information -- such as the card number and the part number -- can be found on the label on the underside of the card.
Step 6
Click "Save" to save the specifications.
Step 7
Click on the "Card Order Operations" tab and then select "Program Tags." The format type of the card will be displayed at the bottom of the screen.
Step 8
Click "Programmer Options" and then "Select a Format."
Step 9
Choose a format from the list that is different from the current format; this will allow you to reprogram the card.
Step 10
Place the card in the holder, label-side down, and then click the "Program" tab. The unit will beep once, signaling that the card is programmed.
