How to Bleach Blinds

Things You Will Need

  • Tub
  • Gloves
  • Liquid dish soap
  • Scrub brush

Use a soaking solution with bleach as the active ingredient to clean and disinfect your blinds at the same time.

  1. Remove the blinds from the bracket at the top of the window.

  2. Fill the tub half full of hot water. Add 1 cup of chlorine bleach to the water.

  3. Place the blinds in the tub to soak for about 30 minutes.

  4. Drain the tub.

  5. Wet a cleaning brush and squirt a few drops of liquid dish soap onto the brush.

  6. Brush the slats of the blinds to remove any remaining debris.

  7. Rinse the blinds and hang them to dry.
