Genie Intellicode Garage Door Opener Troubleshooting
There is nothing more convenient, especially on a rainy day, then having an automatic garage door opener. The Genie Intellicode garage door opener has a wireless keypad that allows you to get into your garage even if you don't have your remote.
As with most modern conveniences, however, you may run into problems with the system.
Power
If your Genie Intellicode garage door opener does not run from the wall control, check to make sure the lock switch on the wall console is not turned on. Ensure that there is power to the outlet by plugging another appliance into it. If you have no power, check for a tripped circuit breaker or a blown fuse. If the power source is not your problem, check all of the connections at the power head terminals. Make sure the motor protector is not open. Once you are done, you will need to wait about 20 minutes for the protector to reset.
Phantom Running
If your garage door runs for no apparent reason, first check the staples on the wire from the power head to the wall control and make sure they are not cutting insulation and shorting wires. If your wire has been cut, you will need to replace it. Also see that the wall control does not have a shorted or sticking button. If it does, you will need to replace the wall unit. If you cannot find your remote control, you will need to erase all of the remote control codes from the receiver's memory and reprogram them.
Running Issues
If your door will only run when it is closed, see that the OPEN limit switch has free movement and proper wiring. Also, check the open force adjustment and that the door does not have a broken spring. Also ensure that the vacation lock switch on the wall console is not turned on. If your door will only run when it is open, check the STB system and make sure the CLOSE limit switch has free movement and proper wiring. Also, check the close force adjustment.
