How to Get Oatmeal Out of Carpet
Oatmeal has a sticky, gummy consistency that can be difficult to remove from objects once it dries. When prepared oatmeal falls onto carpeting, the gooey liquid seeps into fibers and hardens into a tough paste. Remove spilled oatmeal from carpet using a few common cleaning supplies.
Things You Will Need
- Spoon
- White paper towel
- Spray bottle
- Soft cloth
- Carpet cleaning solution
-
Scoop up as much oatmeal as possible using a spoon, and dispose of it in a trash can.
-
Blot any remaining liquid with a white paper towel. If the oatmeal is already dry, spray it lightly with water.
-
Dab a soft cloth into carpet cleaning solution to clean any remaining stains. Blot the stain with the cloth until the stain goes away.
-
Spray the treated area with a small amount of water and cover the area with paper towels. Let the spot dry for several hours.
