How to Take Apart a Bissell ProHeat 2X
The Bissell ProHeat 2X is a carpet cleaner with 10 rows of cleaning brushes, surround suction, built-in heater for water and cleaning solution, 27-foot-long cord, a 12-amp motor and an overall weight of 26 lbs.
While the carpet cleaner should work well under most circumstances, occasional repairs or servicing may be necessary to clean or maintain the unit. It may be necessary to take the ProHeat 2X apart, which should only be attempted by an adult when the cleaner is unplugged and turned off.
-
Push down on the latch to lift out the water tank and the recovery tank from the base of the carpet cleaner.
-
Unwrap the hose from the back of the ProHeat 2X base and release the hose latch.
-
Remove the tools from the tool caddy on the back of the unit.
-
Pull out the lower hose rack by pulling up and out until it slides out of position. Use a Philips-head screwdriver to remove the screws holding the upper hose rack and remove the rack.
-
Unscrew the nozzle from the front of the unit and pull it out. Set the carpet cleaner down on its side with the power cord facing down.
-
Unscrew the black screws and lift off the clear cap on the end. Remove the silver screw and pull up on the pivoting arm to remove. Pull out the brush belt and remove the brush rolls off the metal rods.
