My Ice Maker Is Leaking on an LG Fridge
If the ice maker on your LG is leaking, it is important to address the problem immediately by shutting off the water supply to the refrigerator while the situation is evaluated. By checking your refrigerator, you may be able to locate and resolve the issue without the need of a professional repairman.
After the system has had a chance to dry, turn the water supply back on temporarily and find the source of the leak. If the leak occurs near one of the pipe or hose connections, try tightening the connection. If this does not work, the connector may need to be replaced.
Water Overshooting Ice Tray
If the cause of the leak is the water dispenser for the ice tray overshooting the tray, the water dispenser will need to be repositioned. Consult your owner's manual for proper water dispenser tube positioning.
Water Pressure Too High
If your water pressure is too high, the water dispenser may spray water into your freezer. Reducing the size of the ice cubes the refrigerator makes can remedy this problem in many cases. If not, you will need to consult a plumber about reducing the pressure to between 21 and 121 PSI.
Unlevel Ice Tray
In some models, the edges of the ice trays are low enough that water can spill out if the refrigerator isn't level. Adjust the legs under the refrigerator by twisting them to ensure the refrigerator is level. Use a bubble level situated on top of the unit to verify it's level.
