How to Install the Bottom Plate on a Frigidaire Dishwasher

Frigidaire dishwashers are built with removable bottom plates under the doors of the appliances. The removable panel makes it possible to make some repairs to a dishwasher without requiring the removal of the entire appliance from the surrounding kitchen cabinets. The bottom plate is designed to blend in with the door color for a seamless appearance. For whatever reason you might have to reinstall a Frigidaire dishwasher bottom plate, the bottom plate installs below the Frigidaire door with two screws.

  1. Line up the notched edge along the lower end of the bottom plate with the slot in the metal frame at the bottom of the Frigidaire. Lower the edge of the bottom plate into the slot as far as it will go.

  2. Push the top edge of the bottom plate back against the appliance so the top edge is aligned smoothly with the bottom edge of the dishwasher door.

  3. Fasten the bottom plate to the dishwasher with a screw in the hole on each side of the plate. You may need to jiggle the bottom plate slightly so that the predrilled hole in the edge of the plate lines up with the screw hole in the frame of the appliance. Tighten with a Phillips-head screwdriver.
