How to Hang a Fan on the Wall

Folding wall fans are functional as well as decorative and come in a variety of materials including paper, fabric and canvas.

The slats of the fans can be plastic, wood, metal or bamboo. No matter what kind of material makes up your fan, you can hang it from the wall using double-sided tape. This allows you to hang the fan without damaging the wall and move the fan to another spot if you change your mind.

Open the fan by holding the back slat in one hand and pressing the other slats to the right. Some fans open to create a circle, and others open to a half-circle. The front of the fan will face you.

Turn the fan over so the back faces you. Set it down on a flat surface.

Apply 1-inch pieces of double-sided tape to the back of the fan. Place one piece of tape every 4 to 6 inches along the outer edge, and place one piece of tape every 4 to 6 inches on the inner edge, near where the slats become exposed. Alternate the outer and inner pieces of tape.

Press the fan onto the wall surface gently so the tape adheres to the wall. Do not press so hard that you wrinkle the material.

Things You Will Need
