How to Clean Burnt Food From Your Ceramic Glass Stove top
Ceramic glass stovetops are very popular because they look great and they're easy to keep clean, if you're careful and clean them every day. Stubborn spills and stains, on the other hand, need special care. Learn how to attack them to return your stovetop to its sparkling condition.
Things You Will Need
- Plastic spoon or dull knife
- Olive oil
- Single-edge razor blade
- Baking soda
- Soft cloth
- Lemon
- Mr. Clean Magic Eraser
-
Allow the glass stovetop to cool completely before beginning to clean it.
-
If the stain is thick, scrape away as much as you can with a plastic spoon or a dull knife.
-
If the stain extra tough or extra old, apply a generous amount of olive oil to help loosen the food.
-
Remove most of the food with a single-edge razor blade.
-
Mix 2 tbsp. baking soda with enough water to form a paste. Cover the stain with the paste and allow to sit for about 10 minutes, but don't let it dry.
-
Clean up the burnt food with a soft cloth.
-
If burnt food still remains, reapply the baking soda and water paste, wait 10 minutes, then apply lemon juice. The fizzing action will help remove what remains of the burnt food.
-
If you are unable to remove the remaining burnt food stains, proceed with a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Read and follow the instructions on the package.
