How to Clean Thermador Stove Grates

Gail Logan

Keeping your stove grates clean is an important part of kitchen maintenance. Like with any brand of stoves, removing spills before using your Thermador stovetop again will prevent spills from burning onto the grates and making them harder to remove later. To clean the grates after each use, simply wipe down with a soapy sponge then rinse the sponge and wipe clean. If spills do become stuck on, follow the instructions below.

  1. Check to ensure all of the knobs are turned to the "off" position and none of the burners are heated.

  2. Lift off grates from stove and place in a sink.

  3. Spray the grates with a kitchen cleaner spray for cleaning mild spills or use a mildly abrasive cleaner for hardened spills.

  4. Allow the cleaner to penetrate for at least five minutes. Wipe clean with a damp sponge.

  5. Use the abrasive side of a sponge for tough spots. If the grates still fail to become clean, scrub lightly with a soap-filled steel wool pad.

  6. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry with a towel before replacing.
