For the greatest safety, Viking ranges do not have an open flame or "standing" pilot light. The burners instead utilize electric ignition.

Locate the burner control knob for the burner you want to use. There is a diagram to the right of the control knob indicating which burner the knob will control.

Turn the control knob counter clockwise to ignite the burner. The burner will ignite at any "ON" position, as long as gas is flowing to the burner. Once the burner is ignited, turn the flame to the desired heat.

Re-ignite your burner if the flame goes out. When gas is flowing to the burner, the electric ignition will be sparking. You will hear a clicking noise. If the burner will not light, check to see that the range is completely plugged in to the electrical outlet and that the fuse is not blown.
