Can I Use Windex on My Granite Countertops?
Windex is typically thought to be a cleaner for windows and glass surfaces. Actually, Windex can also be used on a variety of other surfaces around the home as well.
Cleaning Granite With Windex
Windex can be used safely on granite just as it can be used on a glass surface. Spray a light mist of Windex onto the granite countertop, and wipe off with a dry cleaning rag.
Cleaning Granite With Other Items
Stone cleaner or dish soap and water also work well to clean granite. Make sure the stone cleaner is labeled safe for granite, and follow directions on the label. Or you can fill the sink with water and a squirt of dish soap, and wipe the granite countertops with the soapy water. Follow with a damp rag to collect soap residue, and dry the counters with a clean rag.
Other Surfaces to Clean With Windex
Aside from windows, glass, and granite, you can clean a variety of other surfaces with Windex, including marble, stainless steel, chrome, tile, plastic and vinyl. Wipe off the Windex with a dry cleaning rag.
