How to Troubleshoot an LG Tromm Washer

Meredith Jameson

The LG Tromm washing machine has several options, including a direct drive system, automatic wash load time detection, tilted drum, time-released detergent dispenser, child lock and large capacity door and drum.

The washing machine can be purchased online from LG as well as in many home retail, appliance or department stores. If issues occur with the unit, troubleshooting efforts may help users find the source of the problem as well as a possible solution before calling LG for service assistance.

  1. Turn off the LG washing machine and unplug from power if there is a clinking or rattling noise coming from the washer. Examine the drum and pump for hard items that may be causing the problem. Remove as necessary.

  2. Stop the washing machine and move items around the drum evenly if there is vibrating. Check the legs for even installation so that all four feet touch the ground.

  3. Clean household drain pipes if there is water leaking from the washing machine. Reduce the amount of detergent used and tighten the water and drain hose connections.

  4. Fully open the water valves behind the washing machine if the water supply seems low. Move the water hose so that it is straight and clean the strainer screen inside the hose if necessary.

  5. Clean the strainer screen inside the drain hose if the washing machine does not drain. Move the drain hose so that it is straight.

  6. Replace or reset the fuse or circuit breaker if the washing machine does not start and is plugged completely into a power outlet. Open and close the washer door firmly and push “Start/Pause” once a wash cycle is chosen. Note that it takes a few minutes for the washer to actively begin operating.
