How to Remove Coffee & Tea Stains From Silverware
Tea and coffee gradually build up on silverware, leaving dull brown stains on your previously shiny flatware. Prompt washing and scrubbing with mild dish soap sometimes removes the stains, but often your silverware requires additional care.
For sterling silver or even stainless steel, you can use harsh commercial cleansers – but they are not more effective than simple baking soda and water in removing stains. When you use non-chemical cleaning solutions, you do not have to worry about residue remaining on the silverware or take safety precautions while cleaning.

Dissolve 1 tsp. baking soda in a glass of warm water.

Soak the tea- and coffee-stained silverware in the baking soda and water for up to five minutes.

Sprinkle additional baking soda onto a damp sponge. Remove the silverware from the baking soda and water solution and rub the baking soda against the stains.

Rinse the silverware well and dry it thoroughly. If any stains remain, repeat the soaking and scrubbing until the stains are gone.
