A Home Remedy to Clean a Burned Stainless Pot

Burnt food stuck on a stainless steel pot ruins the look of the piece and is difficult to clean.

Cleaning

Taking your eye off cooking food for even a few seconds can result in this problem, but hot water is all you need to remove the food pieces.

Fill the stainless steel pot with a few teaspoons of dish soap and enough water to cover the food. Let soak for at least an hour and then bring the water to a boil for 10 minutes.

Considerations

If you have any pieces of burned food still stuck on the pot, use a scrub brush to pry the food away from the pot. Then clean the stainless steel with warm, soapy water and rinse with fresh water.

Outside the Pot

For burned food stuck to the outside of the pot, sprinkle with baking soda. Gently scrub the baking soda into the food, until it pulls away from the pot.
